Hannele Niemi - Professor, Research Director in educational sciences

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and learning analytics as part it is changing schools and education. It opens new opportunities for personalized and AI Tutored learning.  The presentation reflects on how teaching and learning are changing in schools and how teachers’ role is changing in these new environments and with interactive intelligent tools.  When students’ learning is becoming more targeted and personalized, teachers need training for updating their competences on how to use new digital tools and provide support in situations in which managing privacy and  security-critical issues are present. Teachers also need new pedagogy for learning environments where both a human being and a machine are learners.
